Founded in 1987, Wellgain Precision Products Ltd. is one of the world's leading clock movement manufacturers. Head office is located in Hong Kong, with factories and subsidiaries in China and Thailand.

President and founder, Mr. Tai Wo Ng applies his invaluable expertise and experience in precision technologies in the development of sophisticated quartz movements, propelling Wellgain to the position of a definite world leader in the league. In recognition of his contribution to the industry, he was honoured the prestigious Hong Kong Governor's Award for Industry in 1993, and the "Young Industrialist Award of Hong Kong" in 1996 for his vision and leadership.

Core business of Wellgain focuses on precision technology. Investment in equipment has exceeded HKD150 million dollars; machinery is imported from top German, Japanese, and American makers, ensuring highest accuracy. CNC EDMs, CNC wire-cut machines, CNC machining centres, 3D coordinate measuring machines and others are employed to make moulds with accuracy +/-2um. Currently there are 170 German and Japanese plastic injection machines, most of them computer-controlled. In 1997, CAD/CAM/CAE capabilities are greatly enhanced with the upgrade to EDS Unigraphics. Quality and preciseness of product design is vastly strengthened with this large scale design software; more importantly, the time required from conceptual stage to completion of mould is cut in half, further streamlining the whole process.

Wellgain's 30,000 sq. metre state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities station a 2,000-strong workforce. Annual production of quartz clock movements reaches 50 million units, with a diverse and proven product range such as standard, special function, pendulum, day-date, and alarm clock movements of all kinds. Over the past decade, we have built up a great reputation in North America, Europe, and Japan and became a world renowned quartz clock movement manufacturer in producing innovative, reliable, and durable products with unmatched service.

The importance of quality management is stressed, with the group having awarded ISO9001 international standard certification by both United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and Beijing 9000 Certification Centre for Quality System (CCQS). This establishes comprehensive quality assurance structure, paving the way for effective new product development.
